Lake Season by Denise Hunter

Image
❤❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ I received a complimentary copy of this book.   Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.   Lake Season is Book 1 in Denise Hunter’s newest Bluebell Inn Romance series.   It all starts with a letter from the past and ends with the promise of love letters in the future.   This book was so riveting I literally read it in a single day, I couldn’t put it down.    For any reader who loves reading romantic fiction what could be better than a story about a bestselling author who is the main character.   I absolutely loved how the storyline developed and all of the references to some of the best known authors.     When a romance author can be compared to works by greats like Nickolas Sparks you know that the mark has been hit. I truly enjoyed the message and situations that the author walked the reader through.   You are taken from innocuous things like opinions on writer’s block to damaged self-esteem. It even reminds the reader of the importance of forgi

Mini Miracles by Melissa Storm

❤❤❤❤❤ Mini Miracles was a great free book I came across.   It is one of the better inspiring Christian Fiction novels I have read recently.    What is better than a Christmas Eve find of puppies at the base of a nativity?   This Church Dogs series book walks the reader through the healing journeys of not just the main character but several of the key characters.   It takes on difficult topics like death, deceit, abandonment and ultimately forgiveness and the ability to love again. Melissa Storm has given us a new series that is sure to remind us of God’s plans are bigger than our plans.   This is a must read for anyone who appreciates wholesome inspiring reads.   I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

A Dash of Christmas by Samantha Chase

Image
❤❤❤❤❤ A Dash of Christmas is Book 10 in Samatha Chase’s Montgomery Brothers series.   I have faithfully read each and every one of these books (in order, which I think is the only way to do it.)   Having the opportunity to open up and look into the latest characters is always worth the wait.   Take the time to lose yourself in the Montgomery’s life and watch the action happen. This book delves into the life of Carter Montgomery who is one of the few members of this illustrious family who adamantly chose not to go into the family business but rather buck tradition and go to culinary school.   When he is reconnected with childhood friend Emery Monaghan through some not so subtle matchmaking by his mother, you have to wait to see if there are flames somewhere other than in the kitchen.     This is just one more book in a long line of Samatha Chase novels that are just to hard to put down and leave you wondering what is next on the horizon.   I highly recommend this series.

After the Rain by Mary J. Williams

Image
❤❤💚💚💚  After the Rain is the first book in the One Pass Away series by Mary Williams.     The author creates a heart tugging story line of bad boy turned NFL player who finds himself without a dream after a career ending injury.   Enter a trainer named Claire who has one focus alone, getting Logan Price well enough to play in the NFL again.   Nothing will detract her from her goal and plans…..or will it. I expected the storyline have more depth and struggled with the graphic nature of the sex scenes but that is just my personal tastes.   This book may not be for everyone if you are looking for a romance that builds slowly over time.   Yet it may be exactly what some readers are looking for.    I personally will probably take a pass on the other books in the series. Brave the Wave by Johnny Cavazos

Image
❤❤❤❤❤ Brave the Wave – Discover and Fully Realize Your Authentic Self is a poignant book that takes the reader on a true journey of self discovery.    The author Johnny Cavazos does this through sharing his own personal stories in a brutally honest way.   His willingness to be so transparent give credence to the subject.    This book is so much more than a “self-help” guide for being more than you are currently.    If you truly take to heart the   thoughts presented, this book can definitely have a significant and meaningful affect on your life. I highly recommend this for all stations in life.   It will absolutely help provide you with the much needed clarity that we are all seeking.   Completed – August 23, 2019

Smoke Screen by Terri Blackstock

❤❤❤❤❤ I received a complimentary copy of this book.   Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.   Smoke Screen is one of the best Christian Fiction books I have read recently.    Nate Beckett who is a smoke jumper fire fighter who finds his life turned sideways which leads him back to home town of Carlisle, Colorado to heal his wounds.   Back home he crosses paths with a past love in Brenna who is struggling in her own life situation.     Will the pains of the past continue to haunt both of them or do they have what it takes to overcome? The author takes on some storylines that demonstrate for the reader the risks that come with false assumptions, false accusations, and living with the demons of the past.    How does someone remain strong in their faith when the difficulties continue to pile on top of each other?     Terri Blackstock finds a way to create the picture for the reader that life is sometimes messy and Christians stumble and struggle.   This book i

Nice Bike by Mark Scharenbroich

❤❤❤❤❤ I had the pleasure of meeting the Author Mark Scharenbroich when he was the motivational speaker at a conference I attended.   After listening and being inspired by his message I couldn’t resist the opportunity to purchase this book.   I highly recommend Mark as a speaker for any organization. Nice Bike is a great book that walks the reader through a serious of different stories that give reference to the importance of making meaningful connections.    His helpful hints are relevant in all aspects of life from work to every day personal relationships.    When you define and develop your own self-worth, you truly are able to take on the world and make a difference.     Shameless plug for Mark’s website -  https://nicebike.com/ Completed 8/22/19
