Marked in Flesh by Anne Bishop (The Others – Book 4)

Image
❤❤❤❤❤ Book 4 of Anne Bishop’s “The Others” series initially appears to be the culmination of what will happen when the humans cross that line over what can be tolerated.   When an incensed group of humans attacks and kills part of the human and terra indigene population unprovoked it unleashes powerful beings stronger than the wolf and vampire population.     Meanwhile, where is the relationship between the blood prophet and the Courtyard leader headed? It is hard to imagine that a series this long on a fantasy subject could keep the readers attention this many books into it.   However, the author continues to creatively keep the reader on their toes and wondering what the next turn will be.    Anticipating the next book in the series. When We Were Young (The Baxter Family #4)

Image
❤❤❤❤❤ Karen Kingsbury brings us the next installment in the Baxter Family series.   This unique story that takes place in the span of a single day takes on the difficult subject of marriage and success.   We meet Noah and Emily Carter, sweethearts from the time they met who are on the verge of divorce.   The author touches on the impact that social media can have on “real life” and “real relationships”.    This storyline touches on taboo subjects like divorce in a Christian household and the importance of focusing on what really matters before it is too late.   Definitely a story about second chances. Vision of Silver by Anne Bishop (The Others – Book 3)

Image
❤❤❤❤❤ We find ourselves in Book 3 of Anne Bishop’s “The Other” series.   (As a side note, I highly recommend if you haven’t read the books in order that you go back and read the first two.   While the books can stand alone, so much more is gained by the back story.)   As the world continues to devolve from “fake news” stories in areas, Meg Corbyn’s vision give the impression that there is an impending threat on the   horizon for the Courtyard.    The story walks the fine line between needing to know the future and the risk and damage caused by each vision.    Can the terra indigene keep their Blood Prophet safe and save themselves? This book was very entertaining but I was also struck by so many relevant storylines such as “fake news” impacts on those who don’t think for themselves and the all too real moral battle of just because you can does that mean you should.   The author once again does a fantastic job of keep the reader engage...

Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop (The Others – Book 2)

❤❤❤❤❤ Book 2 of Anne Bishop’s “The Other” series finds that the main character Meg Corbyn is developing strong relationships with the terra indigene.   By her “visions” and ability to warn those who reside in the Courtyard she is successful at saving and preparing them for the dangers that are coming.    With the human world struggling more humans are coming to befriend and work alongside the Courtyard residents.   Once again, the author finds a way to continue to add depth and interest to her characters.    She continues to paint amazing pictures in the readers mind allowing for them to truly engage in this fantasy world.   Couldn’t put this book down and eagerly await the next in the series.
